Isabel Remory
Biography
Isabel Remory (°1981) obtained a Master’s degree in Molecular Medical Biotechnologyfrom Ghent University in 2004. She began her career in the R&D department for crop protection at Devgen (now part of Syngenta).
She subsequently joined University Hospital Brussels, where she contributed to clinical studies and participated in various preclinical research projects within the Cellular and Molecular Imaging Laboratory of Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her work involved close collaboration with the departments of anesthesiology and cardiovascular diseases, focusing on imaging of inflammation in conditions such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and valve calcification.
Since 2016, she has been actively involved in supporting industrial collaborations and service activities within the ICMI core facility. In 2022, she became a full-time member of ICMI as Project Manager for Industrial Contracts. In this role, she oversees the full lifecycle of projects from initial planning to execution and completion, ensuring compliance with GLP and ethical standards through SOP development, resource coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. She is also responsible for drafting study protocols, analyzing and interpreting data, and effectively communicating results to multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making. In addition, she serves as a member of the animal research and ethics committee and the Animal Welfare Body of Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
