Translation from preclinical validation to patient application is achieved through close collaboration with the Department of Nuclear Medicine at UZ Brussel.
Routine Clinical Imaging
The department performs comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, including PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging in oncology, neurology, cardiology, and inflammatory diseases. Standardized acquisition protocols, quantitative reconstruction algorithms, and advanced hybrid imaging systems ensure high-quality, reproducible clinical data.
Clinical Trial Center
The Clinical Trial Center supports early-phase and investigator-initiated studies of novel tracers and therapeutic agents, including nanobody-based radiopharmaceuticals. Infrastructure includes GMP-compliant radiopharmacy, regulatory support, clinical dosimetry expertise, and structured data management.
The close structural link between preclinical research at the ICMI Core Facility and clinical implementation at UZ Brussel creates a seamless translational pipeline. Innovations developed and validated in small animal models can be advanced efficiently into first-in-human trials, accelerating the development of precision imaging and targeted radionuclide therapies.
