Cesyen Cedeño

Cesyen Cedeño earned his PhD in structural biology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, focusing on the role of disordered proteins during stress. Transitioning to industry in 2016, he began working in Immuno Chemistry Quality Control and also in bio-production in Catalonia and Navarra(Spain). His deep expertise in protein chemistry and clear view towards pharmaceutical quality compliance (GMP oriented) enabled him to progress from technician to head of production after the COVID crisis, where his performance ensured operational excellence in a challenging environment. Cesyen’s career highlights a unique blend of academic knowledge and industrial innovation.

Nowadays, as Head of Production for the VDU (Vector Development Unit) his team assumed the challenging task of filling the gap between purely R&D candidates and clinical settings.

The VDU is a state-of-the-art facility fully dedicated to produce proteins from the early stages of development (non-GMP) up to fully compliant batch production (GMP products)
