The Brussels Imaging Pharmacy (BIP) is a centralized GMP manufacturing site for PET radiopharmaceuticals created by 3 academic hospitals in Brussels (UZ Brussel, Hopital Erasme and Institut Jules Bordet). We bring together know-how, people and highly advanced equipment.
A new technology cyclotron was installed in 2016 (Cyclone® KIUBE, IBA) that allows a high capacity production of medical radioisotopes. The radiopharmacy facility is equipped with dedicated hotcells for radiopharmaceutical synthesis and all necessary equipment for quality control, compliant with both pharmaceutical and radiation safety regulations.
Together we aim for a high-quality production of a portfolio of radiopharmaceuticals for daily clinical use in medical diagnostics. There will be a strong focus on research through the development of new molecular imaging tracers for clinical translation.
